This session was focusing on using WSGN, a fashion forecasting website, to learn how to create mood boards and analyse the brands that we researched.
The key learning points of this workshop for me is how to analyse a brand through its website and other trend forecasting website.
We first found one of the hashtags we were most interested in to do the mood board. I remember that when I learned to make the costumer profile in Toolbox session, I was deeply troubled by finding pictures. However, after this period of practice, I can obviously feel that my efficiency is much higher. I can quickly analyse the key words of the pictures I need in my head and find the most suitable one among many pictures. This is a big step forward.
Through the practice of this class, I found that I had some difficulty in brand analysis. I am not confident in my language expression ability. In some parts, we need to analyse the style and history of the brand, and I feel I can’t write anything. It’s much easy to summarise the categories and price ranges of branded products that can be found directly on the website.
so far, I have learnt that business is not only about boring data and analysis, we also need to have a good taste in fashion. It’s like a fashion trendsetter.
