It’s cheering to see so much encouraging feedback from both tutors and my peers.
For my presentation, the tutor commented that my customer profile shows a good selection of images and information that communicates the attitude of my customer choice. The design board has an interesting illustration of a pair of glasses which shows good connections from my research. But I think I didn’t explain it clearly, which leads to some misunderstandings that tutor thinks I created an accessory even though my customer doesn’t wear any slightly misses the point of this task. It’s because my customer didn’t wear any accessories, which made her outfit a little bit boring, so I wanted to create something interesting for her. I should indeed try to show continuity of my type font choices when presenting my work to a professional standard.
For my A3 file, I did lots of experimentation using mixed media. The tutor and my peers complement the exploratory mark-making and confident application of colour, which creates successful visual outcomes. What really surprised me was that both the tutor and my peer praised me for “good drawing skills.” I am always unconfident about my drawing cause I only learned painting for a short time, so it really encouraged me. For the garment design part, it’s true that many of my design could be developed further. I will continue to work hard in the courses of IFS. I will also be more careful to avoid pixelated images and choice of font/text in any supporting annotation/titles in my presentation.
Writing PPD reflectively after every class feels a little bit miserable for me cause I don’t particularly appreciate writing things, but thinking back, it’s actually good for us to review what we had learned that day. I am going to expand on the area of tutor’s feedback and peer’s feedback, and it informs the way I can develop my work and inform my ideas.
