Design 1 PPD

The main content of this class is to extract shapes from the mood board about our research of the research artists prepared in advance for Design 1.

The artist I chose was lee Bul, a Korean artist. I saw her work in one of Tate Modern’s galleries. It’s a costume, and she’s doing performance art on the street in these costumes with all these tentacles, which I think is really interesting.

There was no difficulty for me in the extraction of the shape of the part when I was making application IISF collection has the exploration in this aspect, but was extracted from the investigation of several different elements, through the combination become an article of clothing, in this lesson is to extract a shape and make it symmetrical pattern then make it into a piece of clothing. This is a relatively new attempt for me, but I didn’t feel any difficulty DUE to the previous foundation.

After that, we made the clothes wider, narrower, shorter and longer to make the previous style into a new one. This part was more challenging for me than extracting the shapes because I needed to transform the shapes and add my own design. But I still finished the task well.

The best part of this class was Giles saying that my collage had a great sense of atmosphere, which I think is a very positive comment for an inspiration board.
